Résumé/LinkedIn Profile Review
Are you about to enter a competitve job market and want to be certain you have the best résumé you can?
Do you feel like your résumé/LinkedIn profile isn't attracting the attention you'd expect?
You may want to consider a professional résumé review from me or someone else. While a friend or co-worker may be able to help you, having an outside expert that isn't familiar with your experience may provide a non-biased review, leading to more opportunities and call-backs!
I've reviewed countless résumés over my career and done hundreds of phone screens, in-person interviews, and exhaustive (and exhausting!) searches on LinkedIn using their candidate finding tools.
Some résumés are spectacular summaries of a career. You've seen them, résumés that seem like they are from super humans or impossible: "by age 19, I'd won my second Nobel Prize, this time in Physics for creating Cold Fusion using spare parts from a microwave."
Then there are others that have obviously missing or confusing details, often derailing their chances at landing the best job opportunities. As you might expect, those résumés get tossed into the bin immediately. Far too many are like this. Is yours?
Unfortunately, I've caught people outright lying or being intentionally dishonest or misleading as well. For software developers, it's often related to "experience." All too common is listing a programming language skill when they had only several days of classroom time learning about the language.
But for the honest candidate, too many résumés leave out important and meaningful details, and fail to convey their experiences in a concise way that an outsider can easily understand.
Improving Your Chances
I'll spend 30 minutes total across 2 passes reviewing your profile/résumé. As needed, I'll provide constructive and actionable feedback that you can make. When you've completed the first pass of changes, I'll make a second pass for review.
Do you know what questions a hiring manager or interviewer would ask about your resume? During this process, I'll make a short list of questions that I'd want to ask about your experiences, both about things listed, and often ... unlisted.
Bonus Exposure (optional)
If you pay for the review and are actively looking for a new job (or soon will be), I'll post a link to your LinkedIn profile on my web site for 6 months. It's optional and I'll only add a link if you want it.
May the Odds be in Your Favor
While there are no guarantees that this process will land you a job, I assure you that it can help you understand what's important about your career experiences and how others see you as a possible future coworker.
