Astro has a DB?!

Astro announced an early preview of Astro DB as a self-hosted and as a DBaaS. What’s most interesting to me is that they’re initially using libSQL, which is a fork of SQLite (yet remains fully compatible with SQLite). So, Astro has ignored in some ways the typical cloud deployment architecture of requiring a large spend on cloud database every month. Turso is providing the fork and the distributed and replicated SQL database services.
