Mini Observatory!

I had a grand vision many years ago of becoming an amateur astronomer. I suppose I should be thankful that the budget I established wasn’t sufficient to buy the toys I had discovered at the time. I decided if I couldn’t get the equipment I wanted, then I wouldn’t jump into the hobby. Our last house was in a pretty ideal location at the crest of a hill, plenty of land to set up a telescope, limited city lights on the horizon …

But, I’d bet that I would have lost interest quickly in getting up at stupid-dark-hours to look at the stars and take photos, always chasing the photons from distant stars and galaxies, yet never quite fully satisfied.

This project from Matt Hough is great though! I enjoy reading more about how other people do astronomy now and am not sad that I didn’t start the hobby years ago.
